New article in Applied and Environmental Microbiology

A new publication from Beatriz Pereira, Xiaokang Wang, and Dr. Ilias Tagkopoulos on E. coli’s stress response to everyday use biocides. The work highlights the differences between short- and long-term exposure to biocides in the bacterial transcriptome. Novel correlations between zinc-homeostasis genes and tolerance to biocides were explored, and targets for future investigation of resistance mechanisms were identified.
